Reed began her coaching career at Jackson State, where she served as an assistant from 2006 to 2009.
After stints at Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, and New Orleans, she was named head coach at Hinds Community College in 2015.
On April 16, 2018, Reed was named the head women's basketball coach at Jackson State.
[3] While at JSU, Reed coached the program's first-ever WNBA Draft pick, Ameshya Williams-Holliday, who was taken 25th overall in 2022 by the Indiana Fever, and Angel Jackson, a 3rd-round selection by the Las Vegas Aces in 2024.
She also coached Alexis Roberts, a member of the United States' gold medal-winning team in the 2022 Deaflympics.
