She holds the Hughes M. and Katherine Blake Endowed Professorship in Health Psychology, at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Palermo earned a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Case Western Reserve University.

[2] Palermo is a professor and vice chair of research in the department of anesthesiology and pain medicine, and holds the Hughes M. and Katherine Blake Endowed Professorship in Health Psychology, at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
