Townshend is the primary village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Townshend, Windham County, Vermont, United States.
The CDP is in north-central Windham County, in the south-central part of the town of Townshend.
Mill Brook, a tributary of the West River, forms the eastern edge of the community.
The community of Harmonyville borders the Townshend CDP to the south.
Vermont Route 30 passes through the village, leading south 5 miles (8 km) to Newfane and northwest 9 miles (14 km) to Jamaica.
