[1] On 1 April 2009, a construction company headquartered in nearby Miyako, Santomi (サントミ), acquired naming rights to the station.

[2] Toyotsu Station is served by the Tagawa and is located 4.9 km from the starting point of the line at Yukuhashi.

[3] The station consists of two opposed unnumbered side platforms connected by a level crossing.

Japanese Government Railways (JGR), designated the track as the Hōshū Main Line on 12 October 1909 and expanded it southwards in phases.

With the privatization of Japanese National Railways (JNR), the successor of JGR, on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR Kyushu.
