Trichophaga robinsoni

Trichophaga robinsoni is a moth of the family Tineidae.

[2] It has also been recorded from Asia minor, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The larvae feed on decaying animal matter, including regurgitated pellets of Falco eleonorae.

[3] The species was described as Tinea abruptella by Thomas Vernon Wollaston in 1858.

This name is preoccupied and the new name Trichophaga robinsoni was proposed by Reinhard Gaedike and Ole Karsholt in 2001.
