Founded in 1866, Gjøes Folkehøjskole was the first folk high school to open in the Greve area.

[3] Tune is mainly a residential town with mostly single-family detached homes but there are also small commercial and industrial areas.

The original village with winding streets and old houses is located on a small hill in the western part of the town.

[4] Facilities include two schools, one for 0-5th grade and the other 5-9th grade, a small mall with a public library, two supermarkets, a couple of cloth shops, two real estate agents, a restaurant and three pizzerias, a bank and other shops.
