The "prima" was held at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan on 25 April 1926, conducted by Arturo Toscanini with spanish tenor Miguel Fleta as Calaf "the unknown Prince" and polish soprano Rosa Raisa as the cold Princess Turandot.
