USS Hawk (MSC(O)-17/AMS-17/YMS-362) was a YMS-1-class minesweeper of the YMS-135 subclass built for the United States Navy during World War II.

Hawk was laid down as YMS-362 on 24 November 1942[1] by Robert Jacob Inc. of City Island, New York, launched, 22 May 1943, sponsored by Miss Marilyn Miller.

She departed Norfolk, Virginia, and the Atlantic Fleet 19 October 1944, and arrived at Pearl Harbor 25 November for war duty.

YMS-362 witnessed the mushroom cloud resulting from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945 [2] and was present in Tokyo Bay at the signing of the Japanese Instrument of Surrender on 2 September 1945.
