USS Lafayette (FFG-65) will be the fourth Constellation-class guided-missile frigate.

The frigate is named in honor of Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, a French hero of the American Revolutionary War.

Her name was announced on 29 June 2023 by Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro when he visited Paris.
