Ulysses Doubleday (general)

Ulysses Doubleday (August 31, 1824 – February 11, 1893) was a Union Army colonel during the American Civil War.

In 1866 he was nominated and confirmed for appointment to the grade of brevet brigadier general of volunteers, to rank from March 13, 1865.

[1] On January 23, 1862, Ulysses Doubleday was appointed a major and commander of the 4th New York Heavy Artillery.

[1] He returned to service as lieutenant colonel of the 3rd United States Colored Infantry Regiment, October 2, 1863.

[1] He was appointed to the command of the Artillery Brigade in the District of Florida, Department of the South, in April 1864.
