Shugaba was posted to Maiduguri for the joint task force JTF Operation that contributed to stabilizing the security situation, particularly in Kano State.

In 2013, Shugaba was transferred to Jos as the sector commander of the special task force (STF) due to the crisis between herdsmen and residents in Plateau state.

His outstanding performance led to his appointment as the ADC to the former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Dikko Abubakar.

He has drilled over 45 boreholes across communities in Kaduna State and has facilitated the fencing and provision of 8 solar lighting in cemeteries to protect against body excavation by criminals.

Additionally, during Ramadan and Christmas, Shugaba distributes food items to the less privileged and provides scholarships to deserving youth.
