Valentin Shashin

Valentin Shashin (Russian: Валентин Шашин; 1916–1977) was a Soviet engineer who served as the minister of oil industry for more than a decade, 1965–1977.

[3] While attending the Institute Shashin participated in the defense of Moscow against Nazi Germany.

[3] From 1947 to 1953 he worked as a chief engineer in various gas fields in Bashkiria.

[3] Shashin was appointed minister of oil producing industry in 1965 when the ministry was established.

[3] Shashin died in March 1977 while serving as the minister of oil industry.
