Valery Semerikov

Lieutenant General Valery Anatolyevich Semerikov (Russian: Валерий Анатольевич Семериков; born on 28 June 1954), is a Russian politician and military commander who had served as the acting Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2017 and again from 2018 to 2019.

In the late 1980s, he studied at the Military Academy of Armored Forces named after Marshal R. Ya.

Then he served in the central office of the Federal Border Service in the positions of chief of staff of armaments, in which he was the deputy director of the FPS.

In 2003, he retired from the army to the reserve and worked in the CSTO Secretariat as Deputy Secretary General.
