Vallers is a corruption of valla, a word derived from the Norwegian language meaning "valley".

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 243 people, 83 households, and 64 families residing in the township.

18.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 2.9% of families and 4.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.3% of those under the age of eighteen and none of those 65 or over.
