Vardal Church

It is the church for the Vardal parish which is part of the Toten prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar.

The white, wooden church was built in a cruciform design in 1803 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect.

[3][4] On 9 June 1801, there was a lightning storm which struck a nearby farm building on fire.

Historians speculate that the architect was Amund Nilsen Gloppe based on the design and style of the building, but this is not confirmed.

The new church held its first service on 18 September 1803 and it was formally consecrated on 30 November 1803.

In 1811, the exterior of the building was clad with wooden siding and painted red.
