Born in Yugoslavia, Vasa has lived in Los Angeles since his arrival in the United States in 1960.
He is an academically trained painter and was a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of Design and Media Arts.
[1] Now retired as a professor emeritus,[2] Vasa focuses on his conceptual art practice.
His studio, designed to accommodate the technology required for his work, is located in the heart of Los Angeles.
