Villarepos (Arpitan: Velâr-Repôs [vəlɑʁɛˈpu] ⓘ; German: Ruppertswil) is a former municipality in the district of See in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland.
Of the rest of the land, 0.38 km2 (0.15 sq mi) or 8.0% is settled (buildings or roads).
It consists of the villages of Villarepos and Chandossel along with the hamlet of Plan.
[8] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (355 or 78.4%) as their first language, German is the second most common (88 or 19.4%) and English is the third (6 or 1.3%).
[8] The historical population is given in the following chart:[3][12] In the 2011 federal election the most popular party was the SVP which received 24.3% of the vote.
[13] The SVP received about the same percentage of the vote as they did in the 2007 Federal election (23.3% in 2007 vs 24.3% in 2011).
[8] There were 232 residents of the municipality who were employed in some capacity, of which females made up 44.4% of the workforce.
In 2008[update] the total number of full-time equivalent jobs was 46.
In the tertiary sector; 2 or 9.1% were in wholesale or retail sales or the repair of motor vehicles, 1 was in the movement and storage of goods, 7 or 31.8% were in a hotel or restaurant and 2 were in education.
[8] From the 2000 census[update], 270 or 59.6% were Roman Catholic, while 105 or 23.2% belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church.
This is followed by three years of obligatory lower Secondary school where the students are separated according to ability and aptitude.
The upper Secondary school is divided into gymnasium (university preparatory) and vocational programs.
After they finish the upper Secondary program, students may choose to attend a Tertiary school or continue their apprenticeship.
