Parallelly, Satrajit, a staunch devotee of the Sun, acquires a unique jewel Syamantaka as a boon that bestows a vast amount of gold daily.

Once Prasanna, the sibling of Satrajit, moves to hunt wearing the jewel, a lion slaughters him and runs off with the gem, which has been picked up by Jambavanta and gifts to his daughter Jambavati.
