Violet Township, Fairfield County, Ohio

[4] Located in the northwestern corner of the county, it borders the following townships: Several municipalities are partially located in Violet Township: Violet Township was organized in 1808, and named for the patches of violets within its borders.

[6] The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1.

There is also an elected township fiscal officer,[7] who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election.

Violet Township currently does not have its own police agency and as such utilizes the Fairfield County Sheriffs Office, which provides two deputies at a time to service the area.

Pickerington Police will also frequently assist deputies in policing the agency when call volume is high and resources are available.
