The voice cast includes Samuel Søby Bang as the titular character and Sidse Babett Knudsen as his mother, along with Bodil Jørgensen, Nicolaj Kopernikus, and Birthe Neumann.
Vitello was co-produced by SellOutPictures and Lars von Trier's production company Zentropa Entertainments.
