Vittorio Scarpati (1953–1989) was an Italian artist and cartoonist best known for his highly-expressive works created during his battle with AIDS.
[1] Scarpati’s drawings have been exhibited throughout the world, including at 56 Bleeker Gallery, New York[2] and Studio Voltaire in London.
[4] Scarpati worked in various fields over the course of his career, including: architectural design, commercial animation, pen-and-ink drawing and marble restoration.
[7] Scarpati's work is celebrated for its raw emotional honesty and its reflection of the impact of AIDS on individuals and the art community.
