Vladimir Alekseev (admiral)

26 August] 1912, in Kimiltev, Irkutsk Governorate, Russian Empire – 24 July 1999, in Moscow, Russia) was a Soviet admiral.

During 1940 he was appointed chief of staff to the armored flotilla in the Pacific Fleet, and joined the Communist Party in 1941.

[2] In April 1944 he was assigned as operations officer of the Northern Fleet but insisted on joining a fighting unit.

For this achievement Alexeyev was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union and the Order of Lenin on 5 November 1944.

[3] After the war Alekseev continued to serve in the navy, and was promoted to counter admiral at 27 January 1951.
