Vocational Training Council

Established in 1982, the VTC provides credentials for some 250,000 students each year through a full range of pre-employment and in-service programmes with internationally recognised qualifications.

in 1993, new campuses were established in Tsing Yi and Chai Wan which aimed to provide sub-degree programmes, previously operated by polytechnic colleges.

In 2012, the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong was established to offer courses which combine traditional academic studies with more practical elements.

[3] In order to achieve these goals, the VTC is required to present an annual report to the Chief Executive covering all relevant information.

[4] In 1999, the South China Morning Post published an article outlining poor management within the VTC which was reported to have resulted in HK$160 million in lost revenue.
