Volney Richmond (June 23, 1802 Hoosick, Rensselaer County, New York - February 27, 1864) was an American manufacturer and politician from New York.
He became a wagon and carriage maker, and set up shop in Hoosick.
Later he ran a hotel there until 1840 when he was elected Sheriff and removed to the county seat Troy.
He was Sheriff of Rensselaer County, New York from 1841 to 1843, and Under-Sheriff from 1844 to 1846.
In 1856, he returned to Hoosick and engaged in agricultural pursuits.
