It avoids most pop and dance artists, such as Michael Jackson, Madonna and Whitney Houston, played by many classic hits stations.

It is owned by WRGO-FM Radio, LLC, with studios on White Bluff Road in Savannah.

[2] WTHG carries the syndicated John Boy & Billy wake-up program in morning drive time.

In December 2008, the format changed to adult contemporary music with the slogan "The Greatest Hits of the 1960s, '70s, '80s and Today".
