Wallerberdina is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located about 345 kilometres (214 mi) north of the state capital of Adelaide and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) west of the town of Hawker.
[1] It is located on the plain between Lake Torrens in the west and the Flinders Ranges in the east.
[2] Wallerberdina is located within the federal division of Grey, the state electoral district of Giles, the Pastoral Unincorporated Area of South Australia and the state government region of the Far North.
[4][1][3] Plans to build a nuclear waste dump in the area were defeated in 2019 following community opposition.
[7] The site of the government town of Mount Eyre (31°55′05″S 138°01′29″E / 31.918006°S 138.024705°E / -31.918006; 138.024705 (Town of Mount Eyre)) is located at the south end of the locality on the north-west side of the route of the Marree railway line.
