Walter Brown (Lord Provost)

Walter Brown (c.1770–c.1840) was a Scottish wine merchant who served as Lord Provost of Edinburgh from 1827 to 1829.

[1] In 1810, "Walter Brown, merchant" is living at 3 Buccleuch Place in Edinburgh's South Side.

[3] In 1825, he was running a wine and spirit shop at 19 Lothian Street under the name Walter Brown & Son.

[6] He was then living at 41 Lauriston Place on the south side of Edinburgh close to George Heriot's School.
