Walter Verran Dyer CBE (18 June 1882 – 2 September 1965) was an Australian-born New Zealand board member and chairperson of many education organisations.
[3][4] In September 1928, he consented to be a candidate in the Otaki electorate for the United Party in the 1928 general election.
He stood down for health reasons a fortnight later and was replaced as a candidate by Archibald Burnett Sievwright.
From 1939 to 1951, he was on the board of Victoria University College and for some time held the role of deputy chairman.
[3] In the 1947 Birthday Honours, Dyer was appointed as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
