Wang Zhao (politician)

An active member of the Chinese Communist Party and a general in the People's Liberation Army, he served as governor of Qinghai in the 1960s.

[1][2] Wang was born in Tianjing Village, Pingshan County, Hebei Province.

[2] He became the Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary of Shijiazhuang and mayor of that city in August 1945.

He joined the People's Volunteer Army in October 1950, and fought in the Korean War.

[2] Wang was framed and tortured during the Cultural Revolution and died in prison.
