Warren E. Bow

He attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1914 with a degree in engineering.

[1] While at Illinois, he was a member of the Phi chapter of Sigma Pi fraternity and Scabbard and Blade.

He was a member of the Masons, Knight Templar, AASR, Shriner, Kiwanis[4] and the Michigan Schoolmasters’ Club.

[1] Bow served as superintendent of the Detroit Public Schools and president of Wayne University from July, 1942 until his death on May 12, 1945.

After his death the job of Detroit School Superintendent and President of Wayne State University was separated into two different positions.

[1] Warren E. Bow Elementary School was named for him[9] as was a scholarship for Detroit students who attend Wayne State.
