Waye Mason

Waye Mason is a politician, strategic planner, entrepreneur and educator from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia,[1] Waye Mason holds an MBA from Saint Mary’s University, a BA from Dalhousie University, and an adult education diploma from Nova Scotia Community College.

From 2012 to 2024, he was councillor of District 7, representing the South End of the Halifax Peninsula and part of downtown.

[8] Before the 2020 election, the district was renamed Halifax South Downtown to "bring greater clarity" while keeping the same boundaries, a move Mason requested with colleagues from council.

He proposed setting up "Housing Halifax", an agency to make affordable housing get built faster, a traffic operations centre to reduce congestion, and civilian-led response teams to de-task the police.
