Wendy Coburn

This video documented the world's first Slutwalk protest initiated in 2011 after Toronto Constable Michael Sanguinetti reportedly stated, "Women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized.

"[3] The film depicted agents provocateurs from the Toronto police department, and examined the role of image making and manipulation within and against protest movements.

Wendy developed the groundbreaking course "Making Gender: LBGTQ Studio" which seeks to foster a greater awareness and understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer cultures and subcultures.

In 2013, Wendy was named the first recipient of the BLG Faculty Equity Award[7] for her outstanding contribution to promoting an inclusive work and learning environment at OCAD U.

Shortly after, OCAD University created the Wendy Coburn Scholarship for Social Change in her memory[10] This article about a Canadian sculptor is a stub.
