West Anstey

West Anstey is a village and civil parish on the River Yeo,[1] about 5 miles west of Dulverton,[2] in the North Devon district, in the county of Devon, England.

[3] The parish touches Molland, East Anstey and Withypool and Hawkridge.

[4] There are 26 listed buildings in West Anstey,[5] In 1881 it had its own postman and school.

[6] Anstey was recorded in the Domesday Book as Anestinge.

[7] The name "Anstey" probably means 'steep narrow footpath'.
