[1] Westville was located 14 miles (22.5 km) northeast of Foresthill,[2] at an elevation of 5249 feet (1600 m).
[2] Westville was once a supply and staging center for forty mines in the area.
[3] By 1925, only two residents remained, both of whom were arrested on October 8 of that year for possession of liquor, rendering Westville a "ghost city".
