When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues

"When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues" is a song by American country music artist Martina McBride, recorded for her Greatest Hits (2001) compilation album.

According to producer Paul Worley, the song's writer, Leslie Satcher, wrote it before a demo session.

McBride went on to praise Satcher's writing style and loved being able to use more traditionally country instruments like the fiddle and dobro.

McBride chose to include Dan Tyminski as a backing vocalist after hearing him sing "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow" in the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou?.

[1] Billboard magazine gave "When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues" a positive review, noting that "This one deserves to join its predecessors on a "greatest" set.
