The Wichita Monrovians were a Negro league baseball team in the 1920s.
The team beat the KKK in a baseball match in 1925.
[2] On June 21st 1925, the KKK wanted to improve their image so decided to have a match against a Negro league baseball team.
There was a statement sent out in the newspapers "no strangleholds, razors, horsewhips and other violent implements of argument are allowed".
Irish Catholics served as umpires so the KKK could try and make the gain more "we're not that racist" points (as the KKK also targets Catholics).
