Wilfred Buck (film)

Wilfred Buck is a 2024 Canadian documentary film, directed by Lisa Jackson.

[1] The film is a portrait of Wilfred Buck, a Cree man from Manitoba who survived a troubled and impoverished upbringing to become a celebrated keeper and teacher of traditional First Nations approaches to astronomy.

[3] The film premiered in March 2024 at the CPH:DOX festival in Denmark, and had its Canadian premiere at the 2024 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.

[4] At the DOXA Documentary Film Festival, it received an honorable mention for the Colin Low Award.

[5] It was later screened at the Montreal International Documentary Festival, where it was the winner of the Women Inmate Jury Award.
