Wilfrid Hornby

Wilfrid Bird Hornby was an Anglican colonial bishop at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.

[1] Born on 25 February 1851[2] and educated at Marlborough and Brasenose College, Oxford[3] he was ordained in 1876.

From 1885 to 1892 he was Vicar of St Columba's, Southwick, Sunderland[6] when he was elevated to the episcopate as Bishop of Nyasaland.

[7] After only two years he returned to England, where he was Rector of St Clement's Church, Norwich[8] then Vicar of Chollerton.
