Willard Saulsbury Jr.

Willard Saulsbury Jr. (April 17, 1861 – February 20, 1927) was an American lawyer and politician from Wilmington, in New Castle County, Delaware.

[1] He attended private schools and the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, where he was a member of St. Anthony Hall.

Subsequently, he studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1882, and commenced practice in Wilmington, Delaware.

Saulsbury was the preference of most Democrats and obtained the required majority after several days of balloting.

Saulsbury died in Wilmington and is buried in the Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery at Dover.
