William Arthur Johnstone (December 15, 1869 – September 15, 1937) served in the California legislature in 1902, 1904, 1912 and 1914.
[1] He served as Speaker pro Tem of the California Assembly during the 1914 term, and was listed as a Republican.
[2] William A. Johnstone ran for re-election to the California Assembly in District 68 (Los Angeles) as a Progressive in 1915, and lost (3,652 to 5240 votes) to L. L. Lostutter (Republican).
[4] He authored the State Water Commission Act which was signed into law on 19 December 1914.
They established a citrus farm in San Dimas, Los Angeles County.
