[1] William was born to Joseph Marion Hackett and Mary Née Barnett on April 25, 1874, in Easton, Pennsylvania.
He also served as a delegate to the 1924 Democratic National Convention and launched an unsuccessful bid for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania in 1926.
Including as Director and President of the Easton National Bank, serving on the Board of Prison Inspectors for Northampton County, and being a trustee for the State Hospital for the Insane for five years.
He was also appointed a member of the Washington Crossing Park Commission by governor William Cameron Sproul.
William died on December 10, 1930, at the age of 56 and is buried at the Hackett family plot in the Easton Cemetery.
