William D. Austin

William Downes Austin (April 6, 1856 – May 25, 1944) was an architect and author in the United States.

[4] Austin and Stickney both graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

[5] Austin was the main architect for Boston's Metropolitan Park Commission (MPC), established in 1893, from after its inception up until the mid-1920s.

Austin married Emily W. Barker of Roxbury, Massachusetts on June 8, 1887, in Boston.
