Sir William Erskine Ward KCSI (4 February 1838 – 24 December 1916) was a British Indian Civil Service officer.
He served as Chief Commissioner of Assam between 1885 and 1887, and was made Companion of the Order of the Star of India in 1888.
[1] He served as Chief Commissioner of Assam for a second period between 1891 and 1896.
[2] His son, Lancelot, was also an officer in the Indian Civil Service and a first-class cricketer.
