He was educated at the public schools of New York, before attending Trinity College, from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1948.
[2] Weinhauer was ordained deacon in March 1951 and was priest in October of the same year by Bishop James P. deWolfe of Long Island.
Between 1953 and 1956, he served at the Church of St James The Less in Scarsdale, New York as Director of Christian Education.
[4] In 1956 he moved to Quezon City, Philippines, to become Professor of New Testament at St Andrew's Theological Seminary.
In 1960 he moved back to the United States and in 1961, he became Professor of New Testament at the General Theological Seminary.
