William Garland (politician)

William Garland (December 4, 1856[1] – November 11, 1901[2]) was a merchant and political figure in Manitoba.

He represented Portage la Prairie from 1900 to 1901 in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba as a Conservative.

He was born in Carleton County, Canada West, the son of John Garland and Mary Ann Wright, both natives of Ireland.

In 1882, Garland established his own dry goods business in Portage la Prairie.
