William Henry Hoare

William Henry Hoare (31 October 1809 – 22 February 1888) was an English cleric and author.

Born on 31 October 1809 at Penzance, he was the second son of William Henry Hoare (1776–1819) of Broomfield House, Battersea, Surrey, and his Louisa Elizabeth Noel, daughter of Sir Gerard Noel, 2nd Baronet.

in 1831 as a member of St John's College, Cambridge, was a wrangler, obtained a first class in the Classical Tripos, and was bracketed with Joseph Blakesley for the Chancellor's medals.

His brother Henry Hoare started living at Staplehurst, not far away, at this period, shortly before his marriage of 1836.

[5] They had rowed together in the college boat, and Tyrrell's biographer describes Hoare as his "bosom friend".
