William Humberstone (October 20, 1836 – April 2, 1922) was a Canadian businessman and politician.
He moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in the 1870s, and in July 1880 left for Edmonton on foot with an ox and a Red River cart.
Beata took over management of the mine, becoming one of the first women to run a large business in Edmonton.
She continued to run the mine until 1934 when it closed due to lack of custom during he Great Depression.
[6] He was also a hunter, killing a black bear in 1900 and bringing the cubs into Edmonton.
