William Colburn Mayne (22 July 1808 – 31 August 1902) was an Irish-born Australian politician.
He migrated to New South Wales in 1839 and spent time on various pastoral properties before becoming Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Wellington district in 1846.
From 1852 to 1856 he was Inspector-General of Police,[1] during which time he was also a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council.
He was appointed to the reconstituted Council in 1856 and was the first to lead the Government in that body, representing Premier Stuart Donaldson.
He left the Council in August 1856 to become Auditor-General,[2] and from 1864 was the first Agent-General for New South Wales in London, a position he held until 1871.
