William Wartenbee Johnson

William Wartenbee Johnson (August 26, 1826 – March 2, 1887) was an American politician and judge who served as Associate justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio from 1880 to 1886.

He was the third son of Solomon Johnson, originally from Connecticut, and Elizabeth Wartenbee, a Virginia native.

[1] In 1874, he was the Republican nominee for Supreme Court Judge, but lost to Democrat George Rex.

[4] In 1876, Governor Hayes appointed him a member of the first Supreme Court Commission of Ohio, serving until 1879.
