William Whitty Hall

William Whitty Hall (October 15, 1810 - May 10, 1876) was an American physician, writer and pioneer editor of health magazines.

He graduated from Centre College in 1830 and studied both medicine and theology.

His first wife was Hannah Mattock and his second was Magdalen Matilda Robertson.

[1] Anthropologist Matthew Wolf-Meyer has described Hall as a forgotten researcher in the field of sleep science.

[3] It was reported that Hall never weighed more than 125 pounds and he worked from 5 am to 10 pm every day.
